Approaching Christmas, is delicate, yet anticipated with much excitment. Trying to remember each person, that expects a package under the tree is often stressful, yet fulfilling. How we approach Jesus is packed with the same excitment, as the anticipated gift, under the tree. Knowing that something good is neatly wrapped with love, yet stressful in preparation, hoping the recipient will be satisfied by your endeavors. As Children days before the opening of gifts, often we pick up the package and examine the box, the wrapping, and name of who the gift is from, giving us a thought of what might be within. God always has our best in mind. Just as gifts under the tree, God has given us the best He could give, in His Son Jesus.
Picture a child searching frantically under the tree for their name on a Christmas present, and once they find it, they tear off the wrapper and open the box to find exactly what they had wished for. Nothing else can compare to the gift they recieved. God had that in mind when He gave us Jesus, however we dont have to look frantically for Him, Jesus is always near. A matter of fact, He is inside us. ” Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?” –
2 Corinthians 13:5 NIV.
The gift that we are looking for this Christmas is within us as believers in Christ. For us to appreciate the gift, it often flourishes, as we focus on His initiatives, Love our neighbor as ourselves, Love our enemies, feed the hungry, Love our wife, as Christ loved the church. Pray for those who persecute us. You might ask how do i recognize His initiates? They are neatly packaged in Gods Son, who we can get aquanted with by talking to Him, its also called prayer, and by reading the Good News, the gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, the Bible. So this Christmas season, i challenge you to search within, and recognize the Christ child within your heart, and give Him to the lost, and hurting soul searching for “the gift,” Jesus.
John 3v16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting Life.” This is the verse that changed my life many years ago. Its the gospel in a nutshell as Rev. Billy Graham once said. So simplistic yet so powerful, even a 13 year old child like I once was could understand it. Great Stuff!!!
