Good Morning, I was just thinking about how we have to be ready in a moments notice to respond to a fire or a medical call. Equipment, we have about, everything we need to meet the demands of the day. Yesterday, we swapped back to our pumper, from the standby pumper. Before we starting moving equipment back over, I went into the office and retrieved the equipment list that was written down during the first swap. We used this list to make sure we put back on our truck the tools and essentials that was taken off. Our equipment is so vital to our profession, that every piece of transferred equipment is documented, so it doesn’t get lost in the shuffle. We must be fully equiped to met the demands of our profession. Any piece of equipment, fire or medical could be significant in the way we respond to a situation that occurs.
I was also thinking this morning, how God wants us to be fully equipped to met the demands of life. 2 Timothy 3 v 17 says …that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work. (ESV)
- Ephesians 2 v 10 – For we are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
- Romans 15 v 4 For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
- Hebrews 13 v 21 Equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
God equips, us believers in Christ for His purposes. As Firefighters, we are equipped to respond in a moments notice, to challenging and changing events. God has done the same for us as Christ followers. He has equipped us with everything we need to get through lifes hurdles. Doesn’t mean it will be easy, most struggles are tough. 2 Timothy 2 v 3 says that we are to “endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.” Soldiers are equiped and prepared for war. God has no less standards for us. He has equiped us for the battles ahead, so when life hammers you with a 3 a.m. unexpected house fire, be encouraged, because you will respond with your crew members., and together, equipped, with the right tools, you will be able to take care of the situation at hand. So remember, your are mightily equipped, and have other believers near you, to help. Never stop, keep advancing with the tools God has given to you. God will give you the right tool (Holy Bible) to meet your need and challenge.
God Bless You! Lee D.
