And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times; having all that you need, you will abound in every good work .
God loves us so much. He wants us to bless us abundantly as this verse says. As parents we want so desperately to bless our kids. We want to give them the best we have in order for them to want nothing, however, I think that God expects something from us in return. Let me rephrase that, If we follow the directives of scripture in this chapter, God will Abundantly bless us in all things. This chapter is talking about giving to the Lords work. God expects us to graciously give to the furtherance of the gospel. Yes, giving financially to the Lords work should be a big part of our lives. We shouldn’t just reach in our pocket, when the offering plate comes by and give God our left over change. I believe we should plan ahead and give to God a planned amount. Some have a 10 percent model of giving which is found in Malachi 3. In this chapter, God says “Will you rob me in tithes and offerings?” Wow, God calls us thieves when we are not willing to give to his work. I believe if we truly want to experience the abundant life, we have to be abundant givers of ourselves to Gods work. Other areas in giving are, giving in prayer, giving in working for the Lord (visiting the widows, caring for the orphans, as mentioned in James) just to name a few. God is willing to bless us abundantly, but are we ready to be a abundant blessing for God. Have a abundantly blessed day!
