Today’s world is filled with competition, notoriety, and prestige. it’s a fast paced race toward something greater than where we are right now, according to our own intellect. Time and time again we feel the need to be first in this race, and when we don’t achieve that level of position, we become angry, frustrated with the results. We all have fallen in the worlds trap. We want more, more, more, and will get it at any cost. Even Jesus group of followers fell trap to this way of thinking. In Mark 10 v. 36, Jesus asked a simple question to his disciples “What do you want me to do for you? (37) They replied, “Let one of us sit at your right hand and the other at your left in your glory.” (38) You don’t know what you are asking, Jesus said. Often in our lives we see a destination, but we fail to recognize it’s not as easy as it looks. We race towards something not realizing others along the way could be affected (Read verse 41). We don’t count the cost (read verse 43, 44 & 45) The path to greatness is not who we can get to serve us, but it’s just the opposite. The path to greatness is who can we serve, in the name of Jesus, in our path of life. For further study, read Mark chapter 10 verses 36 thru 45.
Have a great day!!!
